Artificial Reefs

Is it just me or do all of the artificial surf reef projects seem to drag on and on…

Lyall Bay is supposedly, maybe, probably going to have one.

I’m super keen for it to happen and will use it if it goes ahead for sure, but I can’t see it happening given the delays and constant bad press surrounding other related ventures. Can anyone confirm whether the mount reef has started breaking up? I heard a rumour. Did the same thing happen on the Gold Coast in the 90’s? All of this probably doesn’t bode well for future applications.

Here’s hoping someone passionate enough to recreate nature will have the nous’ to push it through in a better fashion than has been the case for artificial surf reefs until now. Great concept, but seems to be a grind to get them built
